This contest forms the basis for the support that the opulent Professional Clothing Awards and professional clothing industry gives to young, upcoming designers. PCA VISION is an international contest open to students from across Europe.
The contest requires students to share their vision of stylish, functional professional clothing (Corporatewear, Workwear and PPE) that can be worn for a specific job role in a sector of their choice. The goal is for the students to deliver innovative designs that truly meet the needs of the worker (man or woman) to help them perform their job to the best of their ability in their standard job environment. The winners are announced at The Professional Clothing Awards black tie gala dinner where their designs are showcased on a live catwalk.
Winners from the 2014, 2016 and 2017 competition have gone on to secure permanent positions, such as, employment in a prominent tailoring establishment on Saville Row London; designing for one of the upcoming luxury boutique uniform design companies in our industry; joining Dimensions one of the leading corporatewear companies in our industry; working as a Design Admin Assistant at Ted Baker and after appearing on MTV moving to work in New York City. The Professional Clothing Show was launched in 2008 and is the only exhibition to showcase Corporatewear, Workwear and PPE under one roof. After partnering with Safety & Health Expo part of the UBM PLC Group in 2016, the Show has continued to grow and the combination of industries, such as, transport, retail, hospitality, banking, emergency services and media attracts over 14,000 visitors to ExCel London.
The Professional Clothing Show helps buyers source new and innovative workwear that comes to life on the live catwalk. The fashion show brings energy to the exhibition and draws hundreds of buyers to see the latest innovations in Corporatewear, Workwear and PPE.
