ANIVEC Sponsors the PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards 2023 for 7th Year Running
ANIVEC, the Portuguese Clothing Industry Association is returning as a Key Sponsor of the PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards for the seventh year running.
On 7-9 November 2023, it will be the first time the event is being hosted in Portugal and will be located at the award-winning venue – Alfandega Congress Centre, Porto, Portugal – on the bank of the iconic Douro River.
The annual PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards is organised by the Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW®) and is an educational, networking event dedicated to the international supply chain for the uniform, workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE) markets.
As the Key Sponsor for 2023, ANIVEC represents the Portuguese apparel industry and collaborates with PCIAW® to promote nearshore manufacturing opportunities for the professional clothing brands, suppliers and distributors to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
ANIVEC will also be hosting factory tours on 7th November, where delegates of the PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards 2023, will be able to book onto a choice of two tours. The first will focus on the uniform supply chain, whereas the second will showcase workwear and PPE factories around Porto.
The PCIAW® Summit in 2023 will be Chaired by Elena Lai, Secretary-General of ETSA and will explore the growth opportunities within the professional clothing industry with Frost & Sullivan and discuss EU policy thinking around the transition to net zero with EURATEX.
The PCIAW® Awards gives global recognition to innovation in fabric and garment technologies, awarding trophies to best uniform designs and for sustainability and inclusivity of workforces.
César Araújo, President, ANIVEC commented: “Without PCIAW®, the professional clothing markets would have no representation. This is why I am proud to be a Founding Board Director of the association. From the very beginning, I believed the worldwide aspect of PCIAW® would benefit the industry and supply chain by creating a network of companies to collaborate and create mutually beneficial partnerships that focus on delivering quality, performance, protection and comfort. This is a big step for PCIAW® running the event outside of the UK for the first time and I am honoured that Portugal is the first international host.
Yvette Ashby, CEO, PCIAW® said: “I am grateful to ANIVEC for its continued support to the PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards. I have visited the Portuguese factories and experienced the sheer quality in everything that they do. Portugal’s determination to create a sustainable apparel and textile ecosystem makes ANIVEC an ideal Key Sponsor to partner with. I wrote the business plan for PCIAW® in Porto and when the professional clothing industry association takes its first step out of the UK, it makes sense for Portugal to be the first European destination to host the PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards event.”
