C.F WEBER undergoes an expansion of the range of sustainable performance textiles in partnership with PCIAW® Trusted Member CORDURA® Brand.

“Sustainability and climate protection are central topics in C.F. WEBER’s day-to-day business and have gained further momentum since the presentation of sustainable rPES fabrics at the A+A last autumn in Düsseldorf. Meanwhile, the demand for adequate products made of recycled Nylon 6,6, which in terms of performance are comparable to classic CORDURA® fabric qualities, is huge from all sectors, with WORKWEAR leading the way.” – says CEO Stefan Friedrich.

At Techtextil (June 21-24, 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany), C.F. WEBER, now the first German company and long-standing authorised mill partner of the CORDURA® brand, will present the first fabric samples made of CORDURA® re/cor™Recycled Nylon 6,6 (RN66). Initially, the new fabric will be launched in the colour black and in three different weave types.

In terms of quantifiable benefits versus Virgin Nylon 6,6 the production of CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 produces 83% fewer greenhouse gas emissions consumes 82% less energy, and uses 57% less water. CORDURA® re/cor™RN66 is made from 100% pre-consumer fibre material that is 100% GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified.

This is precisely where C.F. WEBER has seen the challenge for years: “Until now there was no yarn, certainly not in Nylon, that met the high demands for performance and sustainability, especially in WORKWEAR. But this is about to change with the CORDURA®re/cor™High-Quality-Yarns now offered by INVISTA”, Stefan Friedrich said.

“We are very pleased to bring this exciting new technology with C.F. Weber to market just a few months after launching CORDURA® re/cor™Recycled Nylon 6,6 (RN66). These first fabrics are proof that we have succeeded in developing an innovation that our customers and partners have been asking for,” leads Malayka Erpen, CORDURA® Business Development Director EMEA.

Techtextil offers an excellent platform to discuss new approaches and solutions with customers and business partners. C.F. WEBER can be found in hall 11.1, booth C46, CORDURA® Advanced Fabricsin hall 9.1, booth C70.
