INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand has announced the debut of CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66, urging the industry to ‘Expect More, Waste Less.’
Currently available in 36 on trend colours for Fall/Winter 2023, the new recycled nylon 6,6 collection is ‘durable, responsible and innovated to last.’
In terms of quantifiable benefits versus Virgin Nylon 6,6, the production of CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 decreases greenhouse gas emissions by 83%, consumes 82% less energy, and uses 57% less water. CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 is made from 100% pre-consumer fibre material that is 100% GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified.

Anthony Green, CORDURA® Vice President explains the CORDURA® re/cor™ line of fabrics:
“One of the main goals behind CORDURA® re/cor™ was to continue to deliver the performance expected of CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics, while expanding our portfolio of responsible products. What an incredible breakthrough this is for CORDURA® and our industry as a whole. It’s something our customers and partners have been asking for and something we’ve been working hard to deliver.”
Cindy McNaull, CORDURA® Business Development Director added:
“Innovation is at the core of what CORDURA® truly is, and we make it a priority to continually bring new ideas and products to our brand and retail partners. As the world evolves, we know a large piece of that will fall within stewardship and sustainability. We’ve put this work at the front of our efforts.

“Many of our customers are already familiar with our GRS certified post-consumer recycled polyester and pre-consumer RN6 fabric technologies, both of which are being folded into our CORDURA® re/cor™ line. Additionally, we are also incredibly proud of our solution-dyed nylon fabric, CORDURA® TruelockTM. CORDURA® TrueLock™ fabrics are created from INVISTA nylon 6,6 multi-filament fibres incorporating locked-in colour at the molten polymer extrusion level which offers significant stewardship benefits such as reduced water and energy consumption as well less CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process*.”
Nylon 6,6 challenges the throw-away mentality within the textile industry, making it easier for consumers to understand how one ingredient can allow them to get maximum life from their gear and apparel. At CORDURA® this ethos can be summed up in the belief that “Sustainability Begins With Products That Last™.”
Cindy concluded, “We are partnering with authorised CORDURA® fabric mills, such as Dong Jin International, as well as leading brands to bring this exciting new technology to the market. Stay tuned for further collaboration announcements in the weeks to come.”
