We wanted to let you know about the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) and the support the charity can offer to the families of YOUR employees, particularly in light of Covid-19.
FTCT offers grants towards the cost of essential items for children aged between 0-18 years, whose parent/carer works in the UK fashion and textile industry – this includes employees of PCIAW member companies. There is no charge to your company to use their grants service and for employees their grants are not a loan and do not need to be re-paid
Please pass on the information below to all employees who have been affected by closures, short-hours or lay-offs as a result of Covid-19. This applies even if employees are furloughed – the additional cost of food, clothing and other items will be challenging for families to meet at this time.
When FTCT can help – information to give to YOUR employees
For employees who have children 0-18yrs and are experiencing financial difficulty due to loss of income as a result of Covid19 – a grant from the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust can cover the cost of essential items such as clothing, bedding, bedroom furniture and fridges, cookers or washing machines. If a child has a disability or additional needs, their grants can also help to cover the cost of mobility equipment, sensory toys, therapies and more. The charity is also able to consider a laptop / tablet to support with home learning at this time.
- Please note:
- The charity is not able to support with grants for salary cover, food / household bills, nappies etc, but they are definitely worth contacting to ask for support that’s needed now and in the coming months for other essential items for children, to help you at home.
- Please note the charity can only support companies and their employees who are based in the UK.
