Cobmex

At Cobmex, we utilised the last few months to invest in our digital marketing and ramp up our online presence. 

We modernized and redesigned our website to enhance the user experience and better reflect our brand as well as to best showcase our products. With the decision to hire a Marketing Coordinator we have brought our social media in-house in order to more effectively communicate our voice. This time allowed us to work closely with stakeholders and reflect on our purpose, vision, mission and values. This exercise resulted in statements that are aligned with who Cobmex is now in 2020 and our trajectory into this decade.

Being aware of the importance of face mask usage, we developed a face mask that provides additional features to those that are already available on the market. Our 3 ply protection, reusable, non-medical face masks are built with a nanofiber filter layer, soft and adjustable ear loops as well as adjustable nose strips. They are droplet resistant, breathable, and can be washed up to 20 times.

Cobmex meeting

During the pandemic, we stayed open to continue to serve and supply first responders and all our clients. We kept close contact with our customers and suppliers, checking in with them regularly to get a pulse for how they, and their teams and families were managing. We understood immediately that open and responsive communication took on a greater importance. That is why we have been providing unwavering and uninterrupted service to ensure that we fulfill orders as promptly as we did pre-pandemic. It is our priority to maintain inventory levels to continue to service our clients’ needs in the timeliest manner. Additionally, our enhanced online ordering system also allows our customers to place orders with ease 24/7.

We have remained fully operational in order to serve our customers who rely on us. Many of the industries we serve have been greatly impacted by the pandemic. We have taken a close look at our operating costs and have found ways to become more efficient. Unfortunately, we cannot travel to meet with clients and supply chain partners face-to-face, but we make up for this by video conferencing. We use video conferencing frequently and effectively to meet with customers and suppliers and our team has adapted well. We continue to present our sweaters, send photos, catalogues, and provide samples to maintain the tactile nature of our business. Our ability to sustain our supply chain and continue to provide world-class customer service is a testament to the systems we have in place. At first, working from home presented a challenge but our team rose to the occasion. Our IT department quickly implemented new technology to make ‘work from home’ a seamless transition and daily team meetings helped us adapt quickly. 

It’s probably a bit too premature to claim we know where ultimately the technology and industry is headed. Online meetings, webinars and virtual trade shows will impact the need to travel and the desire to attend seminars and conferences. We do still believe that there will always be an appetite for the human contact of networking. It’s doubtful that technology will ever be able to replace the importance of many of the networking events we have enjoyed in our industry. What has happened though is that we have all been confronted with the importance of technology and its role in keeping us connected to our clients and the industry. It has also forced many to streamline their purchasing process and to provide critical information in real-time. 

The last few months have allowed us to take a step back and reflect personally, within the context of our company, and within the context of our industry. We have always considered our relationships, both old and new, as our greatest asset. But now listening, and listening carefully in an empathetic manner, has taken on a new meaning. It has created a new perspective on how we can stay connected and deliver our message. We are being more creative by exploring the potential of all the tools we have available to us through the internet, via social media and video. We are in the process of developing numerous videos that will help to communicate and educate our customers about our product as well as our commitment to social and environmental sustainability. 

We look forward to continuing to push ourselves digitally and embrace the challenges and opportunities that come our way.
