Bringing Revolution to Evolution
The year has kicked off to a fantastic start for PULSAR®, with new innovations and product launches spread throughout the rest of 2020.
Performance, wearer comfort and design are words that are consistently applied to PULSAR® products, and their new launches are no different.
The PULSAR® Evolution Bomber Jacket will be launched in the second quarter of 2020 with the company already receiving a large number of enquiries following the huge success of the other garments in the collection.
Although the bomber jacket will initially be certified to class 3 waterproof and breathability, PULSAR® are resubmitting it in the confidence of it achieving class 4 status, making it one of the first waterproof garments of its kind. Available in male to begin with, a female fit version will be ready for winter later this year.
Stuart Jukes informed us, “Most of the end-users who will be wearing the jacket work in the toughest of weather conditions and are subjected to water coming at them from multiple angles. With this in mind,
we had to create a product that was as waterproof as possible. For example, the whole rear panel of the garment is made from a single piece of fabric and with heat applied reflective tapes, there are no seams or stitching to allow water ingress.”
Utilising their EvoTECH laminate fabric technology which has proven to be 13x more water-resistant than the Class 3 standard requires, you can be sure to stay dry and comfortable no matter what the weather throws at you.
As always, the PULSAR® consistency in designing incredible products stems from their commitment to “focusing on exceeding the standards,” Stuart Jukes explained. “We’re not just aiming to reach ‘the standard’, we’re always pushing hard to overwhelmingly exceed it.”
The Evolution Bomber Jacket will incorporate some new features compared to the already popular storm coat, such as under-arm zipped ventilation system as well as the new collar jets, allowing the detachable hood to be fastened directly in to the collar, improving peripheral vision when deployed.
Another focus in the design process was the length of the garment and how wearers using the bomber jacket frequently get in and out of their vehicles and lorries. The length means not only is it easier and quicker to enter and exit the vehicle, but it’s also safer as it is less likely to get caught on gear levers or handbrakes.
Striking the balance between design and performance is a skill that sets PULSAR® aside, but not one the company takes for granted.
Stuart Jukes, Manging Director of PULSAR® explained, “Without feedback from the end-users, we can’t improve our products. It is absolutely vital for to us in order to continue our development of
market leading high performance apparel.”
Furthermore, listening to customer feedback and anticipating eventual customer needs are what has led PULSAR® to the creation of a new Ladies hi-vis softshell, available in orange and yellow. A welcome addition to their ladies’ range, to offer a mid-layer option, the softshell has an incredibly high performance and like the Evolution Bomber Jacket, uses a 100% windproof fabric.
Working exceptionally close with their product development manager, to make sure the size and fit of the Ladies’ products they create is always exceptional, PULSAR®’s commitment to providing gender equality in the PPE market is longstanding and the introduction of the softshell is further proof of their dedication.
“We’re really excited to further add to the Ladies collection and we want to continue to expand it even further. High performance and wellfitted garments are deserved by all genders and we plan to keep working hard to fulfil this,” Stuart stated.
Since 2007 PULSAR® has been continually improving and developing their products and will continue to do so in the future. Their focus remains on design, fit, performance and also includes sustainability. With their ambition to make every part of PULSAR® exceed expectations, there is no doubt that PULSAR® will be one to watch this year.
