Hallmark Luxury Care Homes Invests in Workforce with New Bespoke Uniform Range
Hallmark Luxury Care Homes has officially launched a brand-new uniform range across its 22-home portfolio, marking a significant investment in its workforce. Developed in partnership with PCL Corporate Wear, the collection is the result of a year-long collaborative process involving direct input from over 1,300 team members.
Recognising that exceptional care begins with a supported workforce, Hallmark moved away from traditional “off-the-shelf” designs. Instead, the provider conducted extensive wear trials and feedback sessions to ensure the garments meet the physical and emotional rigours of the care environment.
A People-First Design Process
The development of the new uniform was rooted in a structured consultation process. From frontline caregivers and nurses to gardening, maintenance, hospitality, and reception teams, feedback was gathered through focus groups and real-world trials. This ensured that the final garments were not just aesthetically pleasing, but practically superior.
Nye Brown, CEO of Hallmark Luxury Care Homes
“Our teams are the fabric of our organisation. They bring skill, compassion, and dedication to their roles every single day, and they deserve a uniform that reflects that professionalism. This wasn’t about imposing a design from the top down; it was about listening, learning, and creating something together that genuinely supports our people in their daily roles.”
Technical Innovation and Resident Clarity
Beyond aesthetics, the uniform was engineered to improve the daily working lives of staff and the experience of residents. Key technical features include:
- Advanced Fabric Tech: Use of moisture-wicking, breathable, and stretch fabrics for maximum comfort during long shifts.
- Role Clarity: A strategic colour-coding system to help residents and families easily identify staff roles and seniority.
- Durability: Crease-resistant and easy-care materials designed to withstand frequent industrial laundering while maintaining colour.
- Functional Details: A bespoke pocket system designed specifically for the tools and devices used in modern care settings.
Strengthening Professional Identity
The rollout reinforces Hallmark’s commitment to its workforce, fostering a sense of pride and professional identity. By involving staff in the design, the company has ensured that the uniform supports the “confidence and comfort” of the team.
Nick Banister-Dudley, Operations Director at Hallmark Luxury Care Homes
“How our people feel at work matters. By involving the teams directly in the design process, we’ve created a uniform that supports comfort, confidence, and pride, reinforcing that our team is central to everything we do.”
Mercy Mugohzi, a team member at Hallmark Henley Manor
“We talked a lot about comfort, movement, and pockets the things that really matter on a long shift. Seeing that feedback reflected in the final uniform makes you feel listened to and valued.”
The new uniform is currently being introduced across all 22 Hallmark luxury care homes, marking a new chapter in the provider’s ongoing mission to provide an environment where both residents and team members can truly flourish.
