
The education-focused PCIAW® Summit, held in Porto, Portugal, from the 7th – 9th November, will feature a range of expert speakers from across the professional clothing industry.
Opening speeches for the Summit will be given by some of the key figures who helped make the event possible, including César Arújo, the President of ANIVEC and a long-standing Portuguese partner of PCIAW® and Neil Davey, Managing Director of Carrington Textiles which is the Premier Sponsor of the PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards. Elena Lai, Secretary General of the ETSA will also be giving a speech introducing the themes of the event as chair.

Possessing over 35 years of experience in the clothing industry, César Araújo is a business manager with high experience and know-how in the creation, development and internalisation of businesses, mainly in the corporatewear and fashion markets. He is the Founder and CEO of Calvelex, one of the best-known clothing companies from Portugal with several international offices. César also assembles the position of President of ANIVEC (Portuguese Clothing Industry).
Neil Davey,
Managing Director, Carrington Textiles
With over 30 years of experience in the UK’s textiles industry sector, Neil is Managing Director at the global textiles manufacturer Carrington Textiles. During his time with the company since 2011, he has been dedicated to establishing strong customer partnerships worldwide. Neil has been instrumental in expanding Carrington’s customer base in new regions and developing product ranges tailored to meet specific environmental requirements.

A driven and reliable European and international director with a strong focus on public affairs and network development. Excellent lobbying/advocacy, networking and negotiation skills. Strong focus on business development and management skills, with a high level of expertise on media, communication and digital areas applied to a wide range of sectors. The PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards event takes place over three days from 7 – 9 November 2023.
- 7th November – Textile and apparel factory tours for delegates arranged by ANIVEC the Portuguese association for clothing and apparel, who is a long-term partner of PCIAW®.
- 8th November – PCIAW® Summit Part 1 begins at 9:00am until 1:30pm followed by a networking lunch. The PCIAW® Exhibition begins at 1:30pm until 5pm.
- 9th November – PCIAW® Summit Part 2 begins at 9:00am until 1:00pm. The PCIAW® Exhibition begins at 1:00pm until 4pm.
- 9th November – PCIAW® Awards begins with a champagne reception at 6:00pm followed by a three-course gala dinner. The PCIAW® Awards ceremony begins at 7:30pm until 10:00pm, complete with an evening of networking and entertainment.
