The five-year pact with National Textile University formalises the collaboration.
Under a memorandum of understanding with the National Textile University in Pakistan, Archroma, a global supplier of colour and specialty chemicals and NTU will explore innovations in textile research with an eye toward helping the textile industry align with evolving global requirements.
The five-year pact signed in Faisalabad, Pakistan, also includes collaboration on research into the field of unsaturated polyester resins, establishing quality and accessible product lines in non-conventional technical textiles.
Both partners will jointly hold sessions to prepare students for the challenges of the textile industry through in-house training sessions, developmental projects and research in textile applications and innovations. NTU students will be able to join internship placement programs at Archroma’s Centre of Excellence in Karachi.
‘We at Archroma believe in continuous improvement and challenging the status quo leading to enhanced sustainable growth, especially in our product lines, creating value for stakeholders,’ said Mujtaba Rahim, CEO of Archroma Pakistan Ltd. ‘Our partnership will go a long way in adding value in the fast-growing textile segment, from education to R&D.’
Dr. Tanveer Hussain, rector at NTU, said the university’s academic team has already collaborated with Archroma on textile projects. ‘We are very enthusiastic about formalising our mutual relationship and look forward to interesting research outcomes.’
