Fruit of the Loom, Inc., has created a legacy of crafting essential goods for over 100 years.

The company’s global sustainability plan, named Fruitful Futures, demonstrates a commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

These goals were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 and included a universal call to action to eliminate poverty, safeguard the planet and prioritise the peace and wellbeing of all people by 2030.

These integrated 17 goals require governments, businesses and nonprofits to collaborate in order to solve the world’s most significant issues.

Fruit of the Loom has developed Fruitful Futures by working closely with employees and external stakeholders to empower its global workforce.

In 2019, the company completed its first Greenhouse Gas Footprint for scope 3 emissions, propelling the adoption of new goals for 2030. Fruit of the Loom have committed to joining the Science Based Target initiative and are striving to implement 100% transparency in their supply chains.

Fruitful Futures is the first Sustainability Progress report prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards Core Option, encompassing January 1 to December 31, 2019.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) are universally respected sustainability reporting standards.

Fruit of the Loom’s highlights from 2019 include manufacturing 89% of their sales in their own operations, sourcing 89% of cotton sustainably, disclosing 100% of its supply chain online and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 59%.

In addition, the company has implemented 45% renewable electricity, completed wage analysis for all of owned sites and enforced a zero waste policy in its facilities.
