After the departure of our Chief Executive Philip Wright, the TSA board of directors has appointed Mr Robin Rhodes as Interim Manager of the Association. Robin’s role will ensure that Members and Supply Partners have full continuity of service from the team during the process of recruiting a new senior manager to lead the TSA.
Robin is not new to the TSA and the industry, having provided employment relations advisory service to the Association for more than 30 years until 2017. He has held a number of senior corporate HR roles and more recently specialised in advice on employee relations and employment law, becoming involved in the industry in the 1970’s.
He also sat on the Laundry Wages Council for its last four years before abolition, was a lay member on Employment Tribunals for 20 years and spent 10 years as an Independent Assessor working for the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
Charles Betterige, Chairman of the TSA’s board, commented, “Whilst we are keen to appoint a successor to Philip as soon as possible, we want to take sufficient time to make sure that we appoint the right person to lead the Association.
“We are therefore pleased to announce Robin’s appointment as Interim Manager, role he will cover on a part-time basis. Robin’s background and expertise will also support us in the recruitment process for a full-time successor.”
More recently Robin assists companies in employment procedures as an independent party, often carrying out investigations in a grievance, whistle-blowing or disciplinary context, and whenever an employer has no suitable manager/director to undertake a similar role.
