The Textile Division of Milliken & Company have announced a donation of 200 Daisy and Brownie uniforms to the Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountains to Midlands, the local council that serves the community where Milliken’s global headquarters is located.
Milliken served as the fabric manufacturer for the new uniforms which were recently rolled out nationwide. Milliken collaborated with Unifi to integrate REPREVE fibre into the fabric, which is made using recycled post-consumer plastic bottles, to make the uniforms more sustainable.
“Our organisations have alignment across so many pillars—a commitment to sustainability, a belief in community and a responsibility to positively impact the future, to name a few—that it was a real honour to be able to both make a donation that will positively impact the lives of young girls right here in our community and serve as the fabric manufacturer for the new Girl Scouts of the USA uniforms,” said Chad McAllister, president of the Textile Division and executive vice president of Milliken & Company.
The donation made by Milliken will provide uniforms to girls in grades K-3 throughout the Upstate and Midland regions of South Carolina.

Without the generous donation of uniforms, many girls would not be able to fully participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience,” said Lora Tucker, CEO of Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountains to Midlands.
