The PCIAW® (Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide) has highlighted the necessity of developing a circular economy in professional clothing for some time now, covering the issue at the PCIAW® Summit and the upcoming Circular PPE report. This is why PCIAW® was honoured to present the Circular Product Award to Fiber2Fashion Consulting at the 2023 PCIAW® Summit, Exhibition & Awards, held at the Alfandega Congress Centre in the iconic city of Porto, Portugal, on the 9th of November 2023.
Awarded for the inspiring work the company has done in the Dutch medical system, Fiber2Fashion were a key part of the consortium which developed reusable and recyclable protective gowns for frontline medical workers in the Netherlands. Leading the way for what’s possible in circular PPE, the team designed the PPE using recyclable materials which met the specific standards and offered optimal comfort for frontline staff, developing a circular product which does not compromise on safety.
The Award was presented to the company by Fernanda Dias, Director General of Economic Activities at the Portuguese Ministry of Economy and Maritime Trade, and Nisha Muire, Uniform Program Manager at Air Canada. The third award of the night for Fiber2Fashion Consulting, Annette and Rick Van Es received a tremendous round of applause in congratulations for their wonderful effort and achievement for the professional clothing industry.
The PCIAW® is proud to celebrate and reward the individuals and companies that demonstrate innovation and creativity to deliver value within the professional clothing industry through the globally esteemed PCIAW® Industry Awards. The 2023 event was a resounding success for networking and professional development in professional clothing, and the association aims to welcome the network back to London for 2024.
