As the Russian forces continue its invasion of Ukraine, causing pain and suffering to the people, PCIAW® wants to show our support to the citizens in harm’s way.
Ukraine is an essential ally in the world that is interconnected in the global textiles industry.
There are PCIAW® Trusted Members who have teams in Ukraine, employing people who we work in partnership with and who we have got to know personally. It is with a heavy heart that we witness such tragic events.
Stand united with Ukraine
The world must stand united in its efforts to help Ukraine and to sanction the barbaric behaviour of Putin’s regime in its unprovoked invasion. The only focus right now should be on how the professional clothing industry can help.
Of course, the rest of the world will be affected by this act of war by Russia. Supply chains and industries will be hit at a time when the cost of living and operating is soaring, as mentioned in the statement by the Confederation of British Industry. With war breaking out between two nations that are key energy suppliers to the European continent, it is of course going to cause problems for businesses.
However, now is not the time to panic about the repercussions on supply chains at a time when the people of Ukraine are in a constant state of worry of their homes being bombed and their families being killed.
The PCIAW® stands in solidarity. Our message to our members and the wider professional clothing industry is to help where you can.
