PCIAW® Supports Türkiye at this difficult time

The PCIAW® has been deeply affected by the terrible news emerging from Türkiye in the aftermath of two large earthquakes which hit the country last Monday. The association has many friends and partners in Türkiye, and we send our thoughts and prayers to them and their families in this difficult moment.

As of the 9th of February there have been over 16,000 confirmed fatalities, with the town of Gaziantep in Southeast Anatolia most affected. While local authorities work restlessly to provide victims with water, food and shelter, the international community has stepped up to help Türkiye in their hour of need, sending volunteer relief workers and supplies to the country.

PCIAW® wholeheartedly supports the brave efforts of the relief workers giving their time to locate and retrieve missing people. Without their presence many more Turkish citizens would have lost their lives, and we are incredibly grateful for their service. We also take solace in the inspiring stories of community spirit emerging from local communities and Turkish diaspora around the world, uniting to send much needed supplies to Türkiye. Despite the tragedy of this disaster, it is a beautiful thing to know that people will come together to support those in need.

If you would like to support relief efforts in Türkiye, you can do so via the following channels:

We at PCIAW® hope and pray for safety and a return to normalcy for the Turkish people, and we give our friends and partners in the region our unequivocal support.
