PCIAW® Welcomes Worldline as Member to Drive Digital Product Passport Readiness
The Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW®) has announced Worldline as its latest member, a global leader in secure digital platforms and product data infrastructure, whose expertise arrives at a pivotal moment for the textile industry.
With the European Union pressing ahead on Digital Product Passports under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the clock is ticking for textile and clothing manufacturers. The deadline is closer than many realise: DPP compliance for textiles is expected to become mandatory by 2027, and the preparation required is significant.
At their core, Digital Product Passports are standardised digital records that travel with a product throughout its entire lifecycle, capturing raw materials and origin, manufacturing data, repair guidance, recycling instructions, and compliance documentation all in one place. They represent a fundamental shift in how product information is created, stored, and shared across global supply chains. Within a few years, they won’t be optional, they’ll be the price of entry into European markets.
That’s where Worldline comes in.
Through its DPP-as-a-Service platform, Worldline gives businesses a practical route to product traceability without having to build from scratch. The platform enables organisations to capture and manage lifecycle data at scale, integrate with existing systems, and stay ahead of shifting regulatory requirements, making it one of the most relevant tools available to manufacturers preparing for ESPR compliance.
Natalie Gorman – Head of Hospitality & Retail stated, “Worldline is pleased to join PCIAW® and support the industry’s move toward trusted and transparent product traceability. With global regulations advancing – especially the EU’s upcoming Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements – manufacturers need a secure, interoperable data infrastructure more than ever.
Our Digital Product Passport platform enables organisations to capture and manage lifecycle data at scale, integrate with existing systems, and prepare confidently for evolving regulations. Worldline’s expertise in secure data platforms and large‑scale digital infrastructure provides a strong foundation for reliable DPP deployment.
Through our partnership with PCIAW®, we look forward to sharing best practices, supporting members on their compliance journey, and helping accelerate the sector’s readiness for greater transparency, circularity, and long‑term value across global supply chains.”
For PCIAW, the collaboration opens up access to expertise that members urgently need. PCIAW® said Worldline’s capabilities would help manufacturers move from awareness to action: “Their knowledge of secure data systems, traceability infrastructure, and large-scale product tracking will help our members understand not just what’s coming, but how to prepare for it in practical terms.”
Looking ahead, the partnership will focus on knowledge sharing, industry collaboration, and equipping manufacturers with the tools and guidance they need to navigate the shift to digital product traceability. Through joint resources, best practice guides, and educational initiatives, PCIAW® and Worldline aim to ensure that no manufacturer is left behind as the industry moves toward greater transparency, circularity, and lifecycle accountability.
