As environmental pressure on the protective equipment industry intensifies, Polyco Healthline is embedding long-term sustainability into its core strategy, backed by certified standards and measurable progress.
A sector under pressure to change
Single-use products, material waste and sprawling global supply chains have made the PPE industry one of the sectors increasingly coming under pressure over its environmental footprint. As demand for protective equipment continues to rise, the responsibility to rethink how these products are designed, sourced and end-of-life falls squarely on manufacturers.
Polyco Healthline is meeting that challenge head-on. Through phAMBITION, its structured sustainability programme launched in 2022, the company is aligning its operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while tackling the specific pressures facing the PPE sector.
Strategy built for the long term
phAMBITION provides a clear, long-range framework for reducing Polyco Healthline’s environmental impact without compromising the safety and performance standards its customers depend on. Central to the programme is a commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045, with ongoing measurement and reduction of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions already underway.
The programme also targets waste reduction at source, responsible materials procurement and the development of next-generation PPE that balances protection with a lighter environmental footprint.

Independently verified progress
Polyco Healthline holds ISO 14001:2015 certification, internationally recognised evidence of a robust environmental management system and a commitment to continuous improvement. Alongside this, a wider network of accreditations and memberships supports supply chain transparency and accountability.
In a sector where compliance and trust are non-negotiable, independent certification is not a box-ticking exercise; it is a foundation for driving credible, lasting change.
Action, not aspiration
Polyco Healthline’s sustainability commitments are grounded in tangible results. The company has already neutralised 94 tonnes of CO₂ through globally verified offset projects that support both environmental restoration and community development.
Investment in renewable energy, improved operational efficiency, and a transition to electric vehicles and leaner logistics are also reducing the company’s direct and indirect emissions footprint. Polyco Healthline continue to innovate its product range to reduce material waste and minimise waste across the supply chain.
“As PPE manufacturers, we must lead sustainable innovation — phAMBITION is empowering Polyco Healthline to turn our responsibility into bold action, accelerating change and setting new standards across our industry.”
– Innovation & Sustainability Project Lead – Jon Clarkson, Polyco Healthline
Shaping the next chapter for sustainable PPE
Polyco Healthline’s position is clear: sustainability and performance are not competing priorities. With phAMBITION as its strategic backbone, supported by certified environmental standards and sustained investment, the company is demonstrating that responsible PPE manufacturing is both achievable and commercially sound.
As the industry conversation around environmental responsibility continues to evolve, Polyco Healthline is not waiting for the debate to settle. It is actively helping to shape a more sustainable future for PPE and healthcare solutions.
