PPE Industry News: High Visibility Clothing

According to the CCOHS (2008), “high-visibility safety apparel (HVSA) is clothing (e.g, vests, bibs, or coveralls) that workers can wear to improve how well other people “see” them (their visibility).
Every day, many workers wear some form of visibility clothes in order to communicate their presence to others. Police officers, linemen, construction workers are just a few examples of who are required to wear this kind of clothes to do their job, especially in low light and poor visibility circumstances. However, not all visibility clothes on the market have the same qualities and it is important to recognise their differences.
Some of them are made of fluorescent material that is effective only if they reflect the natural sunlight whilst others are made with a retro reflective material which reflect the light back to the origin.
Another differentiation which can be made to have a broader view of the high visibility clothing industry is to recognise the class in which they belong. The first class regards clothes with low coverage and good visibility. The second is clothes with a moderate body protection and provide a better visibility. Finally, the third class has the most complete body coverage and visibility even at long distance.
Different jobs require different types of visibility clothing. Please check our suppliers to find the best products available in the market.
