On the most recent mission to Brazil, César Araújo, President of the Board of ANIVEC, visited Senai Brás – Textile and Fashion in São Paulo, a reference institution in the training and qualification of professionals for the Brazilian industry.
The visit, led by coordinators Samanta Pimenta and Kátia Pinheiro Lamarca, allowed to see up close the work developed by SENAI and, above all, to discuss the future: how to prepare talent, industry and knowledge for the challenges of an increasingly technological, demanding and global textile and clothing sector.
This meeting represents more than an institutional rapprochement. It is the beginning of a path that we want to transform into action.
Portugal and Brazil have industries with different sizes and characteristics, but they have skills, knowledge and experiences that complement each other. There is room to move forward with the exchange of knowledge, training, innovation, technology and joint projects, bringing together companies, institutions and professionals on both sides of the Atlantic.
With the prospect of implementing the European Union-Mercosur Agreement, this rapprochement gains even greater relevance. We should not expect the Agreement to create opportunities on its own. We must start today to build the relationships, skills and projects that will allow us to harness them tomorrow.
ANIVEC wants to take an active role in this new stage, contributing to bringing the two ecosystems closer together and creating concrete bridges between Portugal and Brazil.
The future of our industry is built with knowledge, qualification, innovation and cooperation and there is a lot that Portugal and Brazil can build together.
