Simon Jersey’s Jigsaw X SJ Collection
Simon Jersey is looking forward to 2020 after a successful 2019 which saw a full company rebrand, and the announcement of a partnership with Team GB to provide formalwear for the third consecutive Games.
Managing Director Oliver Cooper comments, “Last year was a good trading year for Simon Jersey with retail sales growth of 42% and the launch of Simon Jersey Germany. With a new CRM system and office relocation to South Manchester, the focus through 2019 was to develop new products for 2020 and beyond.
Oliver continues, “We have spent time listening to customers on their workwear requirements and we feel in a good place to deliver what they need. Following the re-brand process, it was clear our customers loved the quality of the products and wanted to see further fashionable and sustainable options”.
The product development team has responded efficiently to consumer demands with the launch of the Jigsaw X SJ Collection in October 2019, utilising Jigsaw’s archive of prints, and the creation of a sustainable range, due to launch in September”.
The Jigsaw X SJ Collection has been a stand out performer for the business, with several of the prints becoming top sellers in weeks, versus repeated best sellers.
Selina Spence, Head of Product, notes, “The Jigsaw X SJ Collection has been extremely popular with our customer base across Healthcare and Hospitality, including private surgeries and front of house staff looking for a stylish, yet professional piece of workwear.
“Over next year the inhouse team will be working closely with the design team at Jigsaw on the next Collection to launch. The focus will be on florals and monochrome prints in styles that are workable for a fashion-conscious female. We are also introducing a new shape with a ¾ length sleeve adding choice to the range”.
A key part of the Simon Jersey rebrand was the introduction of sustainable practises across all elements of the business. In July 2019, the company signed up as a partner with the ReGAIN App offering discounts for consumers that recycled old and worn clothing, as well as the creation of a sustainable range due to launch in September 2020.
Claire West, Marketing Manager states, “Consumers are becoming more conscious of where their products are coming with requests from individuals and business for responsibly-sourced clothing coming
“As well as our partnership with ReGAIN and the development of the sustainable range, we also hold FSC certification, ensuring when products are delivered the packaging is as earth-friendly as possible”.
As Simon Jersey continues to grow, their biggest project for this year will undoubtedly be the dressing of 650 Athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. As the official Formalwear Supplier, all athletes will be provided with a bespoke suit designed by the UK based design team.
Oliver Cooper adds, “This is an exciting project for Simon Jersey this year and we are proud to be partnered with the British Olympic Association once again. We have no doubt Team GB will bring home the medals”.
