We are pleased to announce the lineup for this year’s prestigious PCIAW® Summit, taking place at the London Hilton Metropole Hotel on the 2nd November 2021.

The 2021 PCIAW® Summit is a must-attend, educational conference for the professional clothing industry to learn about the revolutionary innovations in textiles and recycling, which are set to radically transform the supply chain and facilitate a sustainable, closed-loop, circular economy, from fibre to garment.

Titled Sustainability: ‘Are You Ready?’, this year’s Summit will feature over 20 international speakers with educational presentations, forums, and Q&A sessions that share exclusive insights across the global workwear, corporatewear and PPE sectors.

We are pleased to introduce our first round of distinguished guest speakers, who will provide exclusive insights into sustainable innovations that are taking the industry by storm, including ethical procurement principles, durability and longevity in protective fabrics, and Textiles 2030, the cross-sectoral initiative dedicated to accelerating circularity in textile supply chains.

.

Peter Belk, Circular Economy Campaign Director at Business in the Community (BITC).

Peter will be presenting an overview of the BITC report ‘A Uniform Approach’, published in partnership with PCIAW® to educate suppliers on sustainable procurement principles decided by buyers to help write tenders for eco-friendly uniforms, driving change by demand.

.

Jonas Andersson, Sales Associate at W.L. Gore & Associates, Technical Oriented Fabrics Business.

Jonas will be reframing the debate away from the current take, make, use, dispose of, consumption patterns by educating the industry on the sustainable benefits of durable professional clothing with a justification of unit prices based on life cycle cost analysis.

.

PCIAW® is a founding signatory member of Textiles 2030, a new collaborative voluntary agreement for the UK textiles sector.

A spokesperson from the UK-based Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) will be connecting the professional clothing sector with Textiles 2030’s science-led mission to reduce carbon emissions, water consumption and textile waste in the journey towards a circular system, whilst working to shape government policy.

.

Lisa Rosengren, Head of R&D, Fristads

Fristads: the greenhouse gas emissions from the production of a pair of workwear trousers with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) are almost halved compared with conventionally produced workwear trousers.

Lisa will be discussing how to refine the sustainability credentials of professional clothing manufacturing, foregrounding transparency of environmental impacts across the lifetime of a garment by measuring the Environmental Product Declaration

.

Michael Lock, VP Global Software Sales, Gerber Technology

Michael has over 25 years of experience in introducing and implementing technology in the clothing industry, with a unique perspective on the use of technology and its use within the global industry. Working for one of the industry-leading technology solution providers, Michael will share the Gerber and Lectra technological vision for the future.
