Black Friday is well-known for its slashed prices and huge discounts. For the second year running V12 Footwear have participated in providing a margin-crushing offer to their customers.
With the success of the first Black Friday, the safety footwear manufacturer wanted to share their success with a local charity that is very close to their hearts – The Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Their objective was to donate £1 from every pair of boots sold on Black Friday in the hope of raising a life-changing sum of money.
During a 9-hour period, V12 managed to raise an incredible £5989 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a lifesaving charity providing an emergency service to the people of Wiltshire and surrounding areas. The WAA covers such a large area and is able to get to incidents within minutes, with highly trained medics and specialist medical equipment on board, to save lives. Last year alone they had taken 1,233 missions, averaging 3 potentially life-saving missions a day. The air ambulance is operational for 19 hours a day, can scramble in 2 minutes and carries two units of 0 negative blood.
Fundraising Manager Des Regan said: ‘Support from local companies, like V12 Footwear, is so important towards raising the vital funds required to operate our lifesaving service.
‘V12 Footwear have been long-term supporters of Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the charity is very thankful for the fantastic donation received from their recent Black Friday campaign.’
Last year Wiltshire Air Ambulance were called to 1,233 incidents across Wiltshire and surrounding countries. The charity needs to raise £3.75 million each year to keep flying and receives no direct Government funding or National Lottery grants.
Ben Turner, Co-founder at V12 Footwear commented: ‘At V12 Footwear we are committed to giving to many charitable causes, for us it’s our way of giving something back. A special charity close to our hearts is Wiltshire Air Ambulance – despite no direct Government financial support, kind volunteers and fundraisers keep the helicopter flying day after day. Every day the crew fly three potentially lifesaving missions, 1233 in 2019 alone, with an average time of 11 minutes to reach any incident. Anyone who has waited for an ambulance for a loved one knows every heart tearing second counts. Take a look at the stories on the website to see the courage of the men and women who work to save lives, day and night and bear the inspiring stories of those whose lives they have saved. We proved the courage and expertise of the crew for ourselves six years ago when my daughter was airlifted to the hospital. This is why we donate our top-class Defiant boots for the crew and raise money every year to keep the Air Ambulance flying.’
