The Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW®) is delighted to welcome Shoes For Crews® as the latest organisation to join its growing global network.

For more than 40 years, Shoes For Crews has been dedicated to a simple but vital mission: helping workers stay safe through industry-leading slip-resistant footwear. Since establishing its European headquarters in Shannon, Ireland, in 2001, the company has grown its presence across the continent, supporting customers through multilingual teams, an extensive distribution network and a product portfolio of more than 110 footwear styles designed for a wide range of professional environments.

Today, Shoes For Crews supplies specialist footwear to sectors including healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, food production, aviation and industrial workplaces, where safety, comfort and durability are essential. Its commitment to protecting workers aligns closely with PCIAW®’s mission to bring together organisations shaping the future of professional clothing, PPE and workplace safety.

Innovation has always been central to the Shoes For Crews approach. Rather than focusing solely on slip resistance, the company has developed a range of proprietary technologies that enhance both protection and wearer comfort throughout the working day. These include SPILLGUARD™ liquid-resistant protection, TRIPGUARD™ technology to reduce trip hazards when moving between different floor surfaces, and REVIVE™ foam cushioning, designed to provide greater energy return and reduce foot fatigue during long shifts. Alongside these innovations, its specialist outsole compounds are engineered to deliver dependable grip across a variety of demanding workplace conditions.

As workplace expectations continue to evolve, Shoes For Crews is also investing in a more sustainable future. The company has published its corporate social responsibility strategy, increased the use of recycled materials within its product range, and is actively reshaping its manufacturing and supply chain to reduce environmental impact. By transferring a proportion of production to Portugal and Italy, Shoes For Crews is shortening transport routes while strengthening supply chain resilience across Europe.

These commitments reflect many of the conversations currently taking place across the PCIAW® community, where safety, innovation and sustainability are increasingly viewed as interconnected priorities rather than separate challenges.

By joining PCIAW®, Shoes For Crews becomes part of an international network of manufacturers, brands, suppliers, buyers and industry leaders working collaboratively to advance professional clothing and PPE. Through the Association’s events, working groups, research initiatives, and knowledge-sharing opportunities, members can collaborate on the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry’s future.

PCIAW® looks forward to working alongside Shoes For Crews as the company continues to drive innovation in occupational footwear while contributing its expertise to discussions surrounding workplace safety, sustainability and the future of professional clothing.
